Houstonian Kathy Harrison has come up with a new, free iPhone app that fashionistas around the world are sure to be flocking to — WhatWeWearWhere. The interactive wardrobe guide allows users to view and share the outfits that they and/or their friends are wearing. Participants will ultimately be able to check out what the fashion flock is wearing to various events and happenings all over the world. Just watch as the user count grows.
The concept grew out of Harrison's oldest daughter's quandary about what to wear to a job interview in New York. Understanding that women the world over are always asking, "What should I wear?," Harrison, a former lawyer, came up with the idea.
The new app allows users to post photos of their outfits, list where items were purchased and search others’ posts by category, such as events, workplaces, schools and by #fashtag. Harrison funded the project privately and hired local independent developer Joao Prado Maia to create the software. There is a charitable component to the fashion fixation. With every free download of the app, Harrison will contribute $1 to Girls Inc. Houston.

The launch of WhatWeWearWhere was celebrated at Atrium Ready to Wear and Casa de Novia, hosted by boutique owner Luvi Wheelock. It was a purple affair celebrating the signature color of Harrison's website, complete with purple macarons, flowers and WhatWeWearWhere swag, including buttons and T-shirts. Displaying the versatility of the app, models dressed glamorously in Atrium Ready To Wear apparel and posed for photos for the newly logged-in WhatWeWearWhere users to post to their “closet."
This fashion flock included Julie Bortnick, Hannah Lockwood, Monica Abney, Sarah Gruber, Katy Atlas, Bethany Buchanan, Donna Baughman, Margaret Schuster, Jacky Meacham, Lesley Arbuckle, Robin Harrison, Peppi Lausen, Natasha Helm and Luke Fertitta.
