What: Avenue CDC's 18th "Art on the Avenue" preview party and fundraiser.

Where: Winter Street Studios.

The 411: Avenue CDC drew an enthusiastic crowd of more than 750 to the funky art space where the silent auction offered tempting artworks, jewelry and gift items contributed by local artists. Among those talents were GONZO247, Sandi Seltzer Bryant, Dan Havel and Dean Ruck.

The preview party, honoring Mark Montgomery, Houston president of BBVA Compass, was hosted by Bob Robinowitz of McIntyre + Robinowitz Architects.

While raising $200,000 for affordable housing programs, guests noshed on goodies from Jenni's Noodle House, Beaver's and Cafe Brussels while sipping on wine and bubbly from Dionysus Imports. Entertainment was provided by Two Star Symphony and Susana Collins of Luna Tango Productions.

Who: Civic minded art collectors included Maura Montgomery, Mo and Ric Campo, Kim and Ted Hartz, Richard Campo, Scott and Jennifer Jacobson, Rusty Rogers, Carol and Bob Hewell, Diane Engley and artists Tami Merrick, Nicola Parente and Chris Silkwood.
