What: Houston Galveston Institute "Chocolate, Champagne & Charity" evening.

Where: An extraordinary mansion.

The 411: The sellout group of 180 black-tie attired guests began the glitzy evening in the art-filled home near Bellaire before moving to the full-size basketball court for dinner by George Demeris of Demeris Catering. Linda McIngvale's A Memorable Event transformed the sports center into a glam dinner setting complete with glowing trees and centerpieces of all white flowers.

Chaired by Barbara and Dr. Richard Strax, the evening honored Carolyn Farb with the second annual Champion of Change Award. In addition to receiving a standing ovation for her community work, Farb was serenaded by Gail Best, who dedicated "It's a Wonderful World" to the honoree.
