More than 550 guests enjoyed the great Houston outdoors at the 2017 Buffalo Bayou Partnership Gala held at The Water Works area of Buffalo Bayou Park in celebration of the green space’s renovated Sunset Coffee Building.

The event raised nearly $600,000 for Buffalo Bayou Partnership to continue revitalizing and maintaining Buffalo Bayou. In addition, $200,000 was raised from a live auction for Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s Hurricane Harvey cleanup and recovery efforts.

The evening began with tours of the sensational Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, the City of Houston’s first underground drinking-water reservoir, built in 1927.

From there, attendees made their way to the Wortham Insurance Terrace to enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, music by the Leo Polk Trio, and sweeping views of the downtown skyline.
