Details: Following generous contributions from around the country, the Danish Hanna Frank boat, used to rescue Jews during World War II, was renovated and was recently blessed by Rabbi David A. Lyon in ceremonies at the museum where the boat is on display. Danish Consul Anna Thomsen Holliday hosted the day of celebration and remembrance.
More than 250 dignitaries and HMH supporters attended the event at which former Danish Ambassador Ole Philipson, whose family fled to Sweden on a Danish rescue boat, was guest speaker. The event included servings of Danish sausage and beer from Chef Smirnov Catering and music by Baroque Con Brio.
