What: Women's Excellence in Business Series.

Where: Vallone's.

The scoop: A standing-room only crowd of 150 turned out to hear guest speaker Sallie Sargent, president and CEO of  the Houston Super Bowl LI Host Committee, discuss next February's big event in Houston and offer a few clues on what to expect. With the NFL Foundation kicking in $1 million, Touchdown Houston will donate $4 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in the Houston area with a focus on three key areas of giving: Education, Health & Wellness, and Community Enhancement. Applications for Touchdown Houston will be accepted until June 30.

Who: Women Excellence in Business chair Donna Vallone, Kathryn Mumaw, Jeannie Bollinger, Jenn Todd, Shabana Quershi, JaCola Caldwell, Sarah Cain, Martha Ceballos, and Tere Batista.
