You would never guess by looking at her that Carrie Colbert is a self-proclaimed "engineering and finance nerd" — at least by day when she clocks in with an oil and gas concern. That buttoned-down persona by day gives way to a flair for fashion at night as was witnessed at the Recipe for Success "Dress for Dinner" benefit at Tootsies.

For the evening, she stepped out in a bold geometric-patterned sheath by Preen, pre-ordered on line from Moda Operandi after she had seen it on the runway. "I am a huge fan of pattern and bright colors, particularly pink, so I loved this dress right away!" she emailed after the party.

She completed the outfit with Jimmy Choo sandals from Neiman Marcus, a cuff by Herve Van Der Straeten that she found on Net-a-Porter and she carried a bespoke clutch by Edie Parker, a birthday gift from her special guy Bob Hogan.
