Top rung March of Dimes supporters were treated to an evening of champagne, signature cocktails and menu samplings when the curtain went up on Table restaurant on Post Oak Boulevard. More then 300 turned out to walk the red carpet and weigh in on the redo of the former Philippe Restaurant space.
Although the changes were lightly cosmetic, the red carpet walkways throughout added a certain verve to the surroundings.
General manager Henrryk Cid welcomed the throng while executive chef Manuel Pucha put on a spread in the second floor dining room that included a seafood bar plus servings of ponzu crab, tuna carpaccio flatbread, duck breast and short rib osso bucco, each offered with a wine pairing.
The real party action took place at street level where master mixologist Hector Vargas offered tastings of the Cavender Martini composed of Cinco Vodka, St. Germain and Cleto Rosé Champagne and the popular La Sandia, served with Cinco vodka, fresh watermelon and soda.
Among the first to experience the new restaurant digs were TV news stars Courtney Zubowski with hubby Dr. Eric Haas, Mary and Dr. Mark D'Andrea, Becky Zimmerman, Susanne Dawley Byram, Katherine Whaley with Chris Wadley, Miya Shay and Michael Garfield, plus Debbie Elias, Mary and Dr. Mark D'Andrea, Becky Zimmerman and Rena and Albert Liou.
