The intimate dinner next week with Tom Brady has already proven to be the hottest ticket in town. And as word spreads on the luxe cache of auction items lined up for the Best Buddies benefit, interest is ginning way up.
Who, in fact, would not cash in their CDs to make the winning bid on the "once in a lifetime week in France," crafted by Becca Cason Thrash. Not only is the Best Buddies board member co-chairing the evening with Best Buddies founder Anthony Shriver, but she also is hosting the evening for fewer than 160 high rollers. The silent auction, valued in total at more than $250,000, includes such enticing items as a Hublot Big Bang watch with diamonds valued at $13,450.
That fab French vacation includes time in the champagne region with a Veuve Clicquot tasting, lunch at two-star Les Crayeres, overnight at the grand Hotel du Marc and black-tie dinner with Princess Adelaide d'Orleans, a three-night stay breakfast and dinner included at Chateau de Balleroy (Malcom Forbes' extraordinary playhouse in Normandy) and hot air balloon excursion.
The package can host as many as eight guests. The high bidder also wins a three-night stay at the Royal Monceau hotel in Paris.
The live auction items include a Tom Brady weekend in Hyannis Port (including a round of football in Boston), four nights aboard the 157-foot yacht My Cocktails which accommodates eight and a custom portrait by Romero Britto.
With ticket sales, the live auction and the silent auction, La Becca is aiming at a take of $500,000 for Best Buddies.
