Even with the most serious of causes on the table — aid to victims of child abuse and child abuse prevention — there was no reason that the luncheon crowd filling the Westin Galleria Hotel ballroom couldn't enjoy a little fashion levity along with the gravity of the Children's Assessment Center mission. So it was that the annual "Spirit of Spring" luncheon featured au courant fashions from Tootsies and the best in goldie oldies from Cheeky Vintage.

Cheeky Vintage owners Tina Davis and Denise Hazen chaired the luncheon along with Lidiya Gold and Yvette Webb

On this 15th anniversary of the spring fundraiser, the program was packed including a welcome from emcee Lisa Malosky, comments from CAC executive director Elaine Stolte, recognition of honoree State Sen. Joan Huffman, a heart-wrenching presentation by guest speaker Alicia Kozakiewicz, an Internet safety proponent and namesake of the Alicia Project, plus recognition of members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and past "Spirit of Spring" chairs.

Powerhouse luncheon support came via video from Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia, Mayor Annise Parker and Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. Joining the luncheon scene were CAC board president Brady Crosswell and board members Ericka Bagwell, Susan Boggio and Megan Sutton-Reed. In the mix were Texas Children's Hospital president and CEO Mark Wallace.
