The Heart Guild of Houston ramps up shopping enthusiasm starting Friday with the 10-day Shop With Heart discount card, which this year includes an extended geographic area (Sugar Land, the Woodlands) and restaurants. The $50 card earns you a 20 percent shopping discount and a restaurant treat.
This year, in addition to retailers including Allen Edmonds, Madewell, Atrium, Baccarat, New Balance and Nina McLemore, the card has a special offer at participating restaurants. Use the Shop With Heart card at Mockingbird Bistro, Molina's Cantina, and Luigi's Cuicina Italiana among others and receive a free appetizer or dessert with your meal.

The American Heart Association's guild kicked off the spring shopping spree with a bash at Brooks Brothers in the Galleria, where the store provided expert fashion guidance from the retailer's senior stylist Lynn Futch (that would be a man) and principal women's stylist Stacy Wallace-Albert. Both flew in specially for the cocktail event.
We asked Wallace-Albert what to expect from Brooks Brothers for this season. "Fun and feminine. Rewriting the code of what women wear to work," she said. "Giving them something that is still appropriate but something they actually want to wear because the colors are beautiful. It doesn't always have to be a black suit."
Modeling one of those spring ensembles was guild president Jessica Willey, KTRK Channel 13 news anchor, who stepped out in a sleeveless white, fitted dress.
Joining in the Shop With Heart kickstart party were Julie Haralson, Maricarolyn Stith, Christina Stith, Melissa Ceballos, Becky Yanez, and Melissa McAnelly.
