With more reasons than one to celebrate, the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce kicked up its heels in honor of 13 outstanding women at its annual black-tie Hall of Fame gala, held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
The big news of the night was that GHWCC is the fastest growing women's chamber in the country — reason enough for CEO Suzan Deison and board chair Leisa Holland-Nelson to receive a healthy round of applause from the gathering of more than 400.
Mary Ann Wilkins and Valerie Gibbs bowed in as gala chairs while Philamena Baird held the reins as honorary chair.
Introduced via video tribute then stepping into the spotlight were 2012 honorees Recipe for Success founder Gracie Cavnar, Jane Page Crump, Dr. Kelli Cohen Fein, Ellie Francisco, H-E-B's Winell Herron, Susan Kellner, Melissa Mithoff, Bracewell & Giuliani attorney Carrin Pattman, Sue Smith, Houston Community College president Mary Spangler, Karen T. Stall, M. D. Anderson's Dr. Elizabeth Travis and Beth Williams.
Applauding their achievements were guests including Diane Lokey Farb, Susan Krohn, Lisa Shumate, Hallie Vanderhider, Nancy Levicki, Nancy Nunnery, Pat Young, Sofia Adroqué, Donna Bruni, Susan McEldoon and Cyndy Garza Roberts.
