What a lucky thing for Melissa and Michael Mithoff that his parents live in one of the swankiest, party-friendly houses in River Oaks. For that was the default location for Legacy Community Health Services Holiday Schmooze, which was originally scheduled for the younger Mithoffs' brand new home.

Tradition holds that each year, the chairs of the fundraiser host the party in their requisite posh pad and Melissa and Michael were looking forward to opening their new house for Legacy. But construction delays prevented completion, so plan B at the home of Ginni and Richard Mithoff — was put in place.

And what a wonderful alternative it was. The senior Mithoffs' contemporary dwelling was decked from stem to stern in holiday finery. Jackson and Co. provided the always-lavish, always-delicious spread for several hundred supporters. By night's end, more than $180,000 had been raised. Not bad for a little cocktail party!

Joining the seasonal merriment were Dominique Sachse and Nick FlorescuLiz and Tom Glanville, City Councilman Steve Costello and wife Debbie, Phoebe Tudor, Katherine Phelps, Cindy and Jim Thorpe, Monsour Taghdisi, Henry Richardson, Diane Lokey Farb, Milton Townsend, Pat Breen and Legacy CEO Katy Caldwell and development director Chree Boydstun.
