Just as Moet & Chandon has tennis great Roger Federer as its brand ambassador for the luxe bubbly, BCBG Max Azria has CultureMap's own Meredith Riddle as its H-Town fashion touchstone and major design houses tap high-profile celebs to push their chichi labels nationally, Donna Karan New York has its ambassadors at play across the country. In Houston, it's the stylish Dancie Ware and Sheridan Williams.
But rather than pushing a label, these ladies and the handful of their sisterhood of Donna Karan Ambassadors nationwide serve as gracious examples of community leadership with a stylish bent. The duo was front and center at Hotel ZaZa recently for an invitation-only luncheon hosted by Saks Fifth Avenue and sponsored by the Donna Karan house.
While the ladies sipped champagne and lunched leisurely, a coterie of Saks Fifth Avenue models swirled through the dining room displaying the Donna Karan 2013 resort collection.
Among the ambassador buddies doing a bit of shopping in the temporary Donna Karan boutique following the luncheon presentation were Karen Mayell, Lora Clemmons, Laura Sweeney, Melissa Zarikian, Anne Carl, Sandy Barrett, Theresa Roemer, Mary Kathryn Cooper, Sandy Godfrey and Molly Hubbard.
