It's been 22 years since female patrons of the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston first gathered over dinner to raise funds at the ladies-only Another Great Night in November, a feminine response to the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston's One Great Night in November, founded a few years earlier as a black-tie men's smoker.
Tradition held when Lisa Holthouse opened her beautiful Memorial area home to more than 200 femmes. The evening of artful quiz and dinner was chaired by Nancy Littlejohn and Liz Glanville, whose DeVille Fine Jewelry was sponsor. No surprise then that more than a few of the questions in the trivia contest related to great jewels or that the theme was "Femmes and Gems."
After scouring through the vast spaces of the Holthouse home perusing artwork, taking design notes and filling in the answers in their academic bluebooks, the ladies sat down to dinner by A Fare Extraordinaire in a lavish party tent decorated by Bergner & Johnson's Rebekah Johnson.
They compiled their answers as each table competed to come up with the most correct answers. That honor went to Tabel 1 comprised of Carol Ballard, Becky Bratton, Betty Conner, Clayton Erikson, Hope Griscom Ann Hamman, Ann Kelsey, Kaitlin Mandic and Dianne Tucker. They went home with gifts from DeVille Fine Jewelry.
Testing their trivia skills were Faith Majors, Amy Lee, Jereann Chaney, Mary Smith, Julia Gajcak, Alley Lewis, Kimberly Miller, Kathryn Fay, Susie Criner and Kate Bellin.
