In a break with tradition, Catwalk for a Cure moved from midday to night on Thursday with a successful run as an evening fundraiser for the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation — a happy turn of events due in no small part to the honoree, sarcoma cancer survivor and accessories designer extraordinarie Alexandra Knight.
Laura Arnold, Kelli Blanton and Jennifer Segal chaired the cocktail-attire affair that drew several hundred couples to the ballroom of Hotel ZaZa. The only one who didn't make the lively scene was designer Yigal Azrouel, stuck in New York as a result of Superstorm Sandy.

But the heart of this moving evening was the award presentation to the much-admired Knight, who spoke inspirationally on her battle with cancer. Surviving the disease, she said, "was another chance at living life."
Among those helping raise funds for the all-volunteer foundation (no paid staff, no office rent, just dedication to the cause) were founder Missy Bellinger, Brady Knight, Eddy Blanton, Allie and Jay Fields, Marcia and David Solomon, Luvi and Carlos Wheelock, Cabrina and Steven Owsley, Rosemarie and Matt Johnson, Becca Cason Thrash, Melissa and Michael Mithoff and Stephanie and Ernie Cockrell. Susan Franz was on hand to accept the Commitmen to the Cause Award.
