The ballroom of River Oaks Country Club was awash in praise for those who do good as Krist Samaritan Center held its annual fundraising dinner, "A Samaritan Celebration."
Taking bows as honorees and presented with the Samaritan Spirit Award were Dr. Charles Fraser Jr., surgeon-in-chief at Texas Children's Hospital; generous philanthropists Terri and John Havens; and the Steve and Sheri Dyer family, who work as missionaries in Peru.
The evening, which raised $300,000, was chaired by Carol and Mike Linn, active philanthropists in their own right. They were joined in the program by Krist Samaritan Center CEO the Rev. Gerald DeSobe and by center benefactors Carole and Ronald Krist.
Among the 300 guests were Jan Duncan, Margaret Williams, Marsha and Jim Braniff, Mary Kamp Cesaratto, Carlo Chiocchio, Christy and Lou Cushman, Mikki Donnelly, Carol and John Howenstine and Diane and Brian Kingshill.
