With unprecedented proceeds of $200,000 and a sellout crowd at River Oaks Country Club to their credit, Nancy Beck-Deane and Phyllis Williams stood extra proud as chairs of the Foundation for Teen Health luncheon benefiting Baylor College of Medicine Teen Health Clinic.
Headlining the "Dreams for the Future" event was HLN news anchor and CNN reporter Richelle Carey. The native Houstonian and Emmy Award winner not only spoke as a champion of women and girls but also introduced recipients of the June and Virgil Waggoner Award for Volunteerism — Judge Clarease Yates and Judge Mike McSpadden.
Applauding the teen clinic programs were the Waggoners, Teen Health Clinic director Dr. Peggy Smith, Dr. Paul Klotman, Maureen and Jim Hackett, Beth Madison, Patty Porter, Nancy and Lucian Morrison, Cam Canion, Lu Caltagirone, Louis Skidmore, Dot and Walt Cunningham, Fella and Elaine Knight, Lynn Bentsen and foundation executive director Anne Van Horn.
