They feasted on lobster, lamb, quail, sausage and more at the Coronado Club — manly fare that was only fitting for the Alley Theatre's annual men-only Wild Things dinner.

With Jonathan Finger and Dennis Murphree at the helm, the evening raised $250,000 for Alley artistic and educational programs. Applause, applause for underwriting chairs Eddie Allen, Scotty Arnoldy, Geoff Bracken and Downey Bridgwater.

Allen spun tales of his 41 years covering sports in Houston.

Tradition holds that a sports figure unleashes untold stories as entertainment for the fundraiser. It was Channel 13 KTRK sports director Bob Allen who, on this evening, spun tales of his 41 years covering sports in Houston.

Among the 100 men in black-tie attire were the Alley's managing director Dean Gladden, board chairman emeritus Meredith Long, John Schiller, Roland Sauermann, Pat Burk, Bob Cavnar, Billy Hitchcock Jesse Marion, Byron Hood and Steve Raben.
