Each year in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Saks Fifth Avenue stores across the nation host a fashionable fundraiser with a specific cancer charity selected in each city as beneficiary. This week's cocktail party in the Galleria store saw a record turnout of more than 500 guests.
CancerForward was the selected beneficiary for proceeds from the evening that doubled as an opportunity to recognize CancerForward Forward Movers. The civic leaders, all of whom are cancer survivors, taking bows were John Hrncir, Alison Ayres Bell, Marilu Garza, Grace L. Butler, Susan Pye, Jason Connelly, Sharon Graham, Cynthia Cage McClain, Rebecca Trahan, Terri Dome and Seth Vaughan.
In a twist on Key to the Cure traditions, Saks entertained four young professional couples as benefit chairs — Sydney Ealand and Robert Eifler, Kristin and Jason Kaminsky, Brittany Sakowitz Kushner and Kevin Kushner, and Will and Kate Allen Stukenberg.
And as new national Key to the Cure sponsorship, Cadillac joined the party with Sewell Automotive to host the Pop-Up Cadillac Lounge where lucky partygoers received gift certificates toward the purchase of a new Caddy.
Celebrants included Saks GM Bobby Dees, CancerForward founder and chair Beth Sanders Moore, Kenady Davis, Chris Bell, Meredith Timms Staggers and Trent Staggers, Huston and Megan Able, Diane and Harry Gendel, Patti and Richard Everett, Betty Hrncir and Denise Monteleone.
