Fashion retail veteran and interior designer Julie O’Neal combined her two loves into one space, opening Julie Rhodes Fashion & Home Thursday night. The West University boutique is a haven for exclusive apparel lines, handmade furniture textiles and the invaluable resource of O’Neal, who can dispense style advice and design direction in one chic spot.
Despite the busy evening of social events taking place all over town, O’Neal’s boutique was a priority stop for many. In between meeting guests, she spent much of the evening helping some of them shop from lines such as Nonoo, Theonne and Obakki. A strong proponent of items made and sourced in the United States, O’Neal also carries a selection of pieces by local design darling David Peck.
Guests noshed on French-inspired light bites provided by Philippe Restaurant and Lounge, sipping champagne while they shopped and mingled. The crowd included local fashion glitterati, West University neighbors and O’Neal’s friends and supporters.
Among those making the fashionable rounds were Suleiman Telfah and Jahan Telfah, Katy Atlas, Issa Chu, Magen Pastor, Allesandria Pilegge, Michael Soliz and Tatiana Szligmann, Nadine Murphy, Cabell Wood, Whitney Crenshaw, Alixe Ryan and Jeff Gremillion.
