This Friday the 13th bash didn't really have anything to do with The Bachelorette. But reality series bad guy Kalon McMahon, soon to party on Bachelor Pad, gifted the fundraising crowd at Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House with his presence and donated proceeds from sales of his autographed T-shirts to Citizens for Animal Protection.

And that was a good thing for CAP honoree Kim Padgett. She hosted the fundraiser along with Del Frisco's GM Arthur Mooradian as her launch into months and months of fundraising in an effort to secure enough dollars and therefore enough points for her pooch to be crowned Celebrity Paws Pet of the Year at CAP's annual gala.

The "Save an Animal Poker Tournament" got the ball rolling by raising more than $20,000. More than 150 guests and poker players joined the cocktail party for which Del Frisco's executive chef Steve Haug worked his magic on a selection of appetizers.

Not afraid to test their luck on Friday the 13th were Brian Burke, Brian Teichman, Carol and Dr. Tom Sawyer, Cindi and Dr. Franklin Rose, Hershey Grace, Channel 13's Casey Curry and Miya Shay, Joelle Rogers, Shelby Kibodeaux, Bruce Padilla, David Wright and Chris Fazio.
