More than a few folks were still in party mode after the city's big Fourth of July bash. (It's so confusing to have a national holiday mid-week.) So on Thursday, the party animals prowled the 3600 and 3700 blocks of Main Street for a Dog Days of Summer street scene.

The block party was one in an on-going series of First Thursday events organized under the auspices of Mid Main. Party hosts for the evening bash were the Continental Club, Natachee's, Sigs Lagoon, Tacos A Go-Go, My Flaming Heart and t'afia. Beneficiary was Scout's Honor Rescue, which saves dogs and cats often from city pounds and finds them happy homes. Five percent of all sales during the event were donated to the non-profit.

Among those dog lovers making the block scene were Valerie and Lance Rosmarin, Darin White, Dana Blankenship, Laura Carlock, Timothy Lambert, Jason Collins, Monica Levitz, Darin White, Jennifer Lenardic, Sheridan Schwartz and Russell Price.
