With works by renowned photographers such as Hiroshi Sugimoto, Ansel Adams and Geoff Winningham on the auction block, Houston Center for Photography (HCP) raised close to $193,000 at the annual Print Auction, held at the Junior League of Houston.
Poppi Massey chaired the evening that included a spirited roast and toast of Anne Wilkes Tucker, curator of photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Taking the respected curator to task was Rick Wester of Rick Wester Fine Art in New York, who also served as auctioneer. Prints were featured in both silent and live auctions.
Helping support HCP were Julie Soefer, Liz and David Anders, Kelly and Norman Bering, Bevin and Dan Dubrowski, Clint Willour, Libbie Mastereson, Sue and Bob Swartz, Nicola Parente, Meredith Riddle and Leslie and Brad Bucher.
