It's fast becoming a popular tradition in Houston — the SpringSpirit Baseball Breakfast of Champions. Only in its third year of kicking off the baseball season, the annual fundraiser brings out a coterie of who's who, including sports notables.

For the bacon-and-eggs benefit, the River Oaks Country Club ballroom was filled with politicos, TV news personalities and sports figures including new Texas Ranger Lance Berkman. The latter served as honorary co-chair along with his wife, Cara. Taking the lead as breakfast chairs were Melissa and Kenny Baldwin and Aimee and Wynne Snoots.

Headliner was Dave Dravecky, the former MLB pitcher and cancer survivor.

Supporters of the Spring Branch community program for underserved youth included Randolph Adami, KHOU's Butch Alsandor, City Councilwoman Helena Brown, Cody Carlson, Elsa DelGado, Larry Dierker, Gina Gaston, Greg Hurst, Duncan Klussmann, Matt Musil, Dan Pastorini, Bo and Stacey Porter, Terry Puhl, Allan Ramirez and Brenda Stardig.
