Spanish invasion? Houston's tapas movement builds with another new restaurant

Is Houston having a tapas moment? As inner Loopers discover the new Convivio, Northwest Houston is about to get its own tapas haven.

1252 Tapas, the pint-sized but popular restaurant in The Woodlands' Market Square, is opening a second location in the former Fish City Grill space in mid-November. The Vintage Park space will be 50 percent larger, offering more seating and an expanded tapas menu while retaining "an open floor plan where rustic décor is coupled with contemporary furniture to produce a distinctive European atmosphere," according to the restaurant's press materials.

Locally-owned 1252 Tapas opened in The Woodlands in March 2010, with a name that pays tribute to the reign of legendary Spanish monarch Alfonso X.
