Dine Around Houston Sponsored by RAM has been the foodie hit of the season, and yet another Houston hotspot is poised to take the driver's seat: Batanga, the Market Square restaurant beloved for its modern twist on traditional tapas, will play host to the fifth dinner in the popular series on Monday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Chef Ben McPherson is staying true to the restaurant's Latin American style with a menu that includes Mushroom Croquettes with truffle aioli; Grilled Chicken Skewers with mojo sauce, cilantro and platanos maduros; Okra al la Planxha with chorizo oil and sea salt; Patatas Batanga with chipotle aioli; and Calamari, served with paprika vinaigrette and pico de gallo.
For a price of just $12, diners can choose three out of the above five mouthwatering tapas and polish off the meal with drink pairings and flan for dessert.

Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Ronald McDonald House Houston, and the organization will also be collecting items at Batanga with a wish list that includes food, paper goods, cleaning supplies and gift cards — items critical to the daily operations of the nonprofit.
"Ronald McDonald House Houston is able to fulfill its mission to provide a home away from home for critically ill children only with the help and support of the Houston community," says Mikki Donnelly, director of advancement for Ronald McDonald House Houston. "Foundations, corporations and individuals all come together to help fulfill a need. The generosity of Houstonians helps RMH Houston to provide a safe and loving place for these children and families to call home."
