The wait is over for sexy new lounge concept Bar Bleu, located in the Southampton neighborhood near Rice Village. Coming off the heels of a rockin’ VIP preview party, the boutique all-in-one bar, nightclub and private event venue makes its debut this weekend, but the official “Red, White and Bleu” launch party is slotted for July 1.

Offerings at Bar Bleu will include signature blue cocktails and DJ-spun tunes. Here’s the inside scoop on what to expect.

While there's no shortage of clubs in Houston, Bar Bleu manages to stand out from the pack. Drawing from their backgrounds in homebuilding and fashion, respectively, owners Adam Kliebert and Kellie Letsos have created a super-sleek spot with Instagram-worthy interiors, plus 1,250 square-feet of patio and a large parking lot. The renovations are all part of a $1 million revamp of the space, formerly occupied by Hudson Lounge.

Apropos to it’s name, Bar Bleu, with 6,500 square feet of party space and a capacity of 500, boasts vivid blue accents throughout including plush sofas, luxe fabrics and warm incandescent lighting. Polished lacquered blue walls pop against white ceilings, and large glass swinging doors connect three rooms, making the space uniform.

Front doors lead to a large central room featuring a towering, central custom-built mirrored DJ booth. Hit the 12x20’ LED-lit dance floor and let your inner diva out to up-tempo dance beats from old favorites to current hits, spun by a rotating roster of DJ’s.

Two separate rooms to either side feature full-service bars, private VIP areas and plenty of seating via sofas and tables where you can mingle over drinks.

The featured menu will showcase a solid list of spirits and beers. Ten well-made, all-blue specialty cocktails will include the Glorita, the house take on a blue margarita, and the Bleu Mojito stirred with rum, blue Curaçao, mint, lime and simple syrup, and topped with Sprite. Highrollers can reserve prime seating and bottle service.

There's more to come from Kliebert and Letsos. Construction at the 12,000 square-foot property adjacent to Bar Bleu is already underway for an upscale sports bar, with a capacity of up to 1,500, slotted to open later this year. (Super Bowl 2017 bash, anyone?)

Bar Bleu, located at 2506 Robinhood St., will be open Thursdays through Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., with Happy Hour and food service coming soon.
