Another shop is squeezing into the Houston drinks scene: Austin-based Daily Juice has opened its first local branch at 6401 Woodway Dr next to the Whole Foods. It's all part of the 11-year-old brand’s plan to spread its smoothies around Texas and beyond.

The new Houston location offers a variety of organic fresh and cold-pressed juices, super-food smoothies, freshly made salads, cleanses, nutrient-dense shots and super-food snacks. Hours will vary depending on the season.

With its Texas expansion underway, the brand is looking to markets such as California, Florida and Colorado. The goal is approximately 100 locations by the end of 2017 — slightly behind schedule from its last declaration.

The next market after Houston? Ten new Daily Juice shops will open in Dallas in the next three years.
