Sylvia Casares will add a third restaurant to her growing eponymous empire when she takes over the former Sharky's American Grill space on Eldridge Parkway in May. Casares will simply call the restaurant "Sylvia's" without the familiar "Enchilada Kitchen" to denote to her customers that the restaurant serves more than just enchiladas.
"Everyone knows we are famous for our enchiladas," Casares said in a statement. "I want them to look at the rest of my menu, and discover my amazing mesquite wood-fire grilled fajitas, carne asada, quail and sea bass."
The new location will allow Sylvia's to expand its catering operation to Energy Corridor offices.
At approximately 5,000 square-feet, the new location will be about the same size as Casares's second location on Woodway near Voss. "This restaurant will look similar to the Woodway location,” Casares adds. “It will have the ‘kitchen’ behind the hostess stand, a private room and a large, wrap-around patio."
Expect Casares to host her celebrated cooking classes in the space, too. The new location will allow Sylvia's to expand its catering operation to Energy Corridor offices, which is something it already does from the original location on Westheimer.
