Jan Showers knows glamor and shows it in Glamorous Retreats, the follow-up to her first book, Glamorous Rooms. With more than 200 never-before-seen photographs,  the new book showcases the renowned Dallas designer's elegant eclecticism, blending Hollywood high style, midcentury modernism and classic 18th-century French styles.

CultureMap got a first look at some of the beautiful interiors found within its pages.

Mineral lamps and bed hangings create an ethereal ambience in this master bedroom in a luxe lodge in Bachelor Gulch, Colo. The chandelier is Arts and Crafts, and the Claudette cowhide benches are from JS Collection.

This sun room right on the Atlantic Ocean in Palm Beach, Fla. has vintage rattan furniture upholstered in Lulu D K fabric. It all sits atop Dash and Albert rugs.

W Dallas Victory Residences boast some of the best views of the city, and this corner unit on the 29th floor is proof. The Lucite breakfast table and leather laced chairs overlooking downtown Dallas is something that anyone could get used to.

This sculpture garden in a Toronto retreat was built to house an art collection, host parties and entertain guests.

This dining area in a Nantucket cottage emphasizes blues and greens. The room features Coco chairs and Elizabeth chandeliers from the designer's JS Collection. The table — a vintage Louis VXI style — complements the large, French mirror from the 1940s.

This is a typical Bahamian-style house on the bay side of Harbour Island, Bahamas. (In this case, we'd love to be "typical.") The Manhattan tables are from JS Collection, and the lamps add a wonderful vintage touch.

A late Art Deco game table and chairs from France sit in front of a window in the living room of this lodge in Bachelor Gulch, Colo.
