What happens when you gather a dozen of Houston's most powerful and respected female restaurateurs and add several bottles of champagne?
That's what My Table magazine set out to discover on Monday in shooting the dramatic cover of the February/March issue, its first to focus entirely on women in the restaurant industry.
The result in this behind-the-scenes shot was Mimi Del Grande holding court and regaling the assembled women (which included established fixtures like Tony's Donna Vallone and Cinda Palacios of Armandos and newcomers like Mirna Riveroll of La Fisheria and Etoile's Monica Verpiand) with wild stories of hanging out with Gigi Huang in the high-flying '80s.
Assembling women renowned for running either the dining room or the business side of Houston restaurants, the Annie Leibovitz-style cover was shot inside the dramatic atmosphere of Katsuya by Simon Gentry and styled by Cerón, Edward Sanchez and Tootsies.
