Travis Wiper has the two things I most need in the morning: Breakfast tacos and a seemingly endless amount of positive energy.

For seven weeks Wiper and his business partner James Ruckman have been operating Breakfast Burritos Anonymous, setting up in the Inversion Coffeehouse parking lot every weekday morning from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wiper, who is a graduate of the Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management and a former Truluck's general manager, says the BBA concept is something he's had in mind for four years, just turned into a truck.

Breakfast Burritos Anonymous has found a niche that's made it a quick hit.

"No one has time to cook anymore, but people hate themselves when they have to drive through a drive-thru," Wiper says. "We make everything from scratch daily from the sausage to the salsa. It's very fast and very affordable."

I myself am not capable of making sound decisions before 9 a.m., so the popular build-your-own breakfast burrito is too complicated for me, but I liked my duo of breakfast tacos stuffed with sausage, eggs and a tomatillo-based "volcano" sauce, although I can't wait to try the even hotter, habanero-based salsa that Wiper says is coming soon.

There's also a stuffed French toast and a version of sausage on a stick on the menu, and Wiper says blueberry muffins and kolaches are in the works.

Late night service is a future possibility for the breakfast food truck, despite mornings that currently begin at 3:30 a.m. As the only major food truck in town serving breakfast hours, Breakfast Burritos Anonymous has found a niche that's made it a quick hit, embraced by morning commuters.

"We already have regulars that come every day . . .  we had a lady tell us that she depends on us. It's really fulfilling," Wiper says.
