So it's a little strange to see Pope competing for the title of Master Holiday Chef by creating recipes featuring Alouette cheeses. Pope is the only chef from Texas in the competition, and she's currently in fifth place behind leaders Ryan Jaronik of Benchmark Restaurant in Brooklyn and Chicago's Jared Van Camp, chef at Nellcôte.
Pope's fans can check out her cheesy recipes at the Master Holiday Chef website and vote for the chef daily, potentially earning prizes themselves in addition to scoring Pope some glory.
But while I'm sure Pope's recipes are great as written with Alouette cheeses, anyone making them at home might want to trade in the Chavrie for some local Cheesy Girl chevre. I'm sure Monica Pope won't mind.
