Jones made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon in a now-deleted Facebook post, proclaiming Concepción a "misconcepcion" and asking whether anyone knew of any open positions. His supporters reacted in shock.
"I left literally about three hours ago," the local chef explained to CultureMap. He acknowledged that his post was made in haste.
The concept for Concepción was announced this spring — just a few short months after Jones stepped down from Xuco Xicana — as a joint endeavor between the chef, Ocean's owner Jorge Alvarez and service manager Matthew McLaughlin.
Jones said that he is currently dealing with "emotional fallout" and that he is unsure about next steps. The parting, he claimed, was not a positive one.
