Winner winner chicken dinner! One of the tastiest fried chicken restaurant chains in the nation, Chicken Express, is set to open its first Houston-area location next month.
Based in Mineral Wells, the chain has selected a location in Katy, near the southwest corner of South Fry Road and Westheimer Parkway in Cinco Ranch Village Square. It will the first of several Chicken Express restaurants in west Houston from franchisee, Traditional Family Foods, LLC.
Chicken Express serves fried chicken meals, sides (including biscuits that melt in your mouth), drinks and desserts. It is known for “fresh” (not frozen) marinated chicken products dipped in a secret batter mix and "cooked to perfection," according to its website. The restaurant offers drive-in and take-out services as well.
“Greater West Houston and Katy match the company’s focus on demographics and community size,” Nick Schirripa, Traditional Family Foods, LLC’s area managing member, said, in a press release.
The restaurant franchise has over 170 locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, with the majority spread across Texas.
