Houston has gained quite the reputation for a culinary capital, so it's no surprise that five of the city's top innovators made it on Food & Wine's top 100 list of The People's Best New Chef

The problem now is narrowing down your favorite.

Terrence Gallivan and Seth Siegel-Gardner, the dynamic duo who have been turning heads and surprising palettes at their dueling restaurant concepts, The Pass & Provisions, have been selected for the scope of their ambitious — and delicious — endeavors.

Roost chef-owner Kevin Naderi has been cooking up dishes that draw on his roots and his passions in an understated Montrose kitchen. Just a few blocks away at Underbelly, Chris Shepherd's farm-to-table ode to Houston cuisine has been earning the restaurant national headlines. Last but not least is Justin Yu, who has made diners reconsider the vegetable at Oxheart

Dallasites on the list include Matt McCallister of FT33 and Omar Flores of Driftwood, and Austin chefs Mat Clouser (of Swift's Attic) and Andrew Wiseheart (of Contigo) also make a showing.

The online ballots, which opened on Monday, will remain up through March 18; cast your vote here
