There's still no word on what kitchen will next be home to Jonathan Jones, the culinary mad scientist formerly of Xuco Xicana, Beaver's and Max's Wine Dive. But this Sunday you can find Jones taking over the menu at gastrocantina El Gran Malo for one brunch only.

Jones and Alvin Schultz, the molecular-gastronomy-loving Houston chef featured on Gordon Ramsay's MasterChef last summer, are teaming up to present a menu that will include "togarashi chicharrón, cup o’ noodles, pastrami and root vegetable hash," as well as Jones' take on ceviche and much more.

The pop-up brunch will run Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and will be served alongside El Gran Malo's infused tequilas and cocktails.
