It's that time of year again. As fashion weeks in New York, London and Milan come to an end, we are stuffing our suitcases and and organizing our agendas for nine days of back-to-back shows in the chicest city in the world, Paris here we come!
After attending our first set of Parisian shows back in February, we learned the ins and outs of the essentials needed to survive this hectic schedule. From foldable ballet flats for racing from show to show and a rechargeable battery pack to keep our iPhones juiced, here is our list of "must-haves" for a week of fashion in the City of Light.
For racing around in between shows, we are bringing these CitySlips ballet flats to give our feet a rest. $58, available at Neiman Marcus.
In trotting from show to show navigating with Google maps, catching Uber rides, and feeding our Instagram addiction, our iPhones are drained mid-day. Thank heavens for the Mophie Juice Pack aircase. This rechargeable external battery is concealed within an iPhone case, so you can not only charge but protect your phone while on the go. $100, at Horchow.com.
To keep track of showroom appointments, lunch dates and all the fab looks we see coming down the runway, we are staying organized and taking notes in this runway textured-leather notebook fom Smythson. $135 at Net-a-Porter.com.
In order to access all gadgets and work, we couldn’t refrain from this chic Henri Bendel travel adaptor. It’s easiest gadget to forget, but the most essential device in Europe. Fortunately, with this chic iconic Henri Bendel striped leather case it was the first thing we threw in our suitcase! $68 at Henri Bendel.
With nine days of non-stop shows, meetings and after parties, we can expect to have a few repeat items in our outfit choices. Equipment blouses make the perfect basic to play with; change them up by adding a vlazer or a some statement jewelry. Simple and chic. $201 at Net-a-Porter.com.
To keep skin glowing despite jet lag and late nights, we are bringing the vbeute It Kit. Major perk: the travel size bottles are TSA friendly and fit perfectly in our carry on's. $165 at beautybar.com.
In order to land fully rested and ready for day one of Paris Fashion Week, in-flight sleeping is essential. Henri Bendel's Chic & Chilly cooling eye-mask will only block unwanted light when catching z's up in the air, but also help with puffy eyes. Just pop it in the freezer or in a cup of ice water. before applying. $28 at Henri Bendel.
Statement baubles are the perfect way to transform an otherwise banal LBD or spice up a repeat look. Not to mention, they take up very little packing space. Valentino makes the ideal floral crystal necklace for just that, $845 at Net-a-Porter.com.
Trotting around from show to show isn’t easy on your toes, making a wedge bootie the must have accessory for fashion week. Wedge booties not only add height to any ensemble, but don’t strain your feet as much as a pencil heel stiletto. Isabel Marant wedge bootie, $1,155, at Net-a-Porter.com.
Another wardrope necessity to keep from overpacking for a week ia a great shift dress that can be easily repeated. The CrOp by David Peck Anders dress is a perfect shift dress because of its trend-on hue and high-low hemline. $385 at DavidPeckCollection.com.
With all of these perfect packing essentials, hopefully we will be well prepared for American Girls in Paris Part Deux. Be sure to follow us on Instagram (@lindleyarnoldy and @cinchedwaist) for a behind the scenes look at Paris Fashion Week.
