Every woman who finds at least one special something that she simply must have for her wardrobe knows that desire often trumps practicality. With that in mind, we surveyed a handful of fashionable femmes to learn what are their must-have fashion indulgences for fall.
We asked them to don that fave fashion find and meet us at Brennan's for a photo shoot.
All eyes were on this svelte community volunteer when she walked into Brennan's in YSL leather leggings and the stunning Givenchy zip-front jacket with peplum. The leggings are so popular that they have already sold out online.
"It's simple. I just like the black," she said. "You can put anything with it. The leather leggings are a staple for the fall and they can go from day to cocktail."
She simply had to have this Rick Owens jersey, draped tunic from Tootsies that can be worn wrapped and tied as a short cocktail dress, as seen here, or unwound to serve as a floaty shirt over leggings.
"You know me," she says, "I like versatile. I like to get a lot of wear out of something."
She added the Monique Lhuillier leather belt, and stepped out in Jimmy Choo evening shoes, also from Tootsies. "I like to be able to wear it casual or dressy."
This philanthropically-minded mom bought her first pair of Lucchese riding boots recently while attending a non-profit meeting in El Paso (home to the iconic bootmaker) and they are her new favorite accessory.
A combination of mad dog goat (a sort of suede) and chocolate waxy comanche leather, this duo comes from Lucchese's classic collection.
She dresses the look up with her woven fabric, geometric print bag from Prada. Another of her must-haves for fall.
While we swooned over Audrey's black knit Alexander McQueen cocktail dress, it was her peep-toe, snake skin pumps by Louboutin that caught her eye for fall.
"I got them in Las Vegas and instead of gambling, this is what I spent my gambling money on," she said. "This color just says fall to me."
A semi-retired CPA (her words), Audrey has recently started a style blog for moms called Spilled Milk Style.
Phyllis Williams claims to be giving up on fashionable towering high heels in favor of a flat-soled boot. The moment she eyed these comfy beauties in the shoe store Embellish in her hometown of Chattanooga, Tenn., she knew they were for her.
Her suede boots by Isola feature a laser-cut lace trim perfect for dressing up or down. And she swears by their comfort level.
For this glamorous blonde, the Louis Vuitton trench with mink collar was irresistible.
"It's different and it's versatile (sleeves are detachable making it a wrap dress)," she said. "I've never seen a trench with a fur collar. I had to have it."
Love the smaller LV logos that glisten ever so slightly in the light.
"Andrew Gn is my favorite designer," she said as she paraded in this black wool and silk chiffon cocktail dress by the Paris-based designer.
"Fady Armanious (Tootsies store director) introduced me to him and I fell in love with his collection. It's a classic, yet young and modern dress."
"I also love the idea of the little black dress that I can dress up with my Miu Miu shoes or dress down with a great boot!" Her evening shoes are from the Miu Miu Galleria store.
