Say It Ain't So

Hervé Léger picks Dallas

Hervé Léger, known for skin-tight bandage dresses favored by celebrity singers like Rihanna, Beyoncé and Kylie, is coming to Texas. But owner BCBG Max Azria Group has chosen Dallas over Houston as the site of the first Léger boutique in the Lone Star state.  The 1,300-square-foot store will open at North Park Mall in October.

We think Houston is more of a Léger town than its neighbor to the north. But luxury retailers often choose one city over the other, based on available space and the best deal they can get. North Park has a full-service Barneys and Oscar de Renta boutique. Houston has neither, but the Galleria has such luxury boutiques as Yves Saint Laurent, Fendi and Bottega Veneta that haven't opened in Dallas. So it's a toss-up.

There are two BCBG stores in Houston, at the Galleria and Houston Pavilions.
