The search for the perfect engagement ring can be filled with stress and pressure amidst the endless options. BHLDN, Anthropologie’s one-stop shop for wedding gowns and accessories, has enlisted the help of Houston-born, Indian-inspired jewelry brand ILA to made the hunt a little easier.

ILA founders Vikas and Ila Sodhani have created a curated collection of nine exquisite engagement rings and wedding bands for the bride. The brother and sister duo, both Houston natives, say they are inspired by their Indian ancestry that highlights an appreciation for meticulously-handcrafted details. The rings, which range in price from $600 to $3,000, are available online on the BHLDN website. The collection uses 100 percent sustainably-sourced diamonds and sustainably fabricated and recycled 14k and 18k gold in all of the handmade creations.

At the launch of the collection on Thursday at a "Carats & Craft Brew" party featuring Karbach beer and light bites from City View Catering and Buttercup Bakery, Vikas Sodhani highlighted what important aspects to consider when shopping for a great engagement ring.

"Quality of the diamond is key. We educate our clients on the breakdown of the diamonds and materials we use," he said. "I would also say the color of the metal, the gold, is important. It doesn’t have to always be in white gold. Most designer jewelry is actually in yellow gold and it’s actually a beautiful engagement ring. And you can also mix. You can have a white gold engagement ring and rose gold wedding band, which can be a beautiful combination. "

The siblings tout thinking outside-the-box on tradition, but still creating a ring classic enough that the bride will still be in love with it in 20 years. “I think people should be open to doing something a little bit different, even in the classic solitaire styles themselves, there are some slight touches in design that can make it really unique and different," Vikas Sodhani said.

The ring collection is another addition to the many aspects of an engagement and wedding that BHDLN’S personal styling offers. Stylists offer advice on wedding gowns and accessories, outfits for the bridal party and gift ideas.
