Ladies, listen up. If there is one item that is an absolute must for your spring and summer wardrobe, it is an Equipment blouse. This line of androgynous, menswear inspired blouses has become my closet staple and can instantly chic up any ensemble. Tie it over your swim suit, tuck it into a pair of shorts, or throw it on with a pair of denim…however you choose to style it, I guarantee you will be on trend and super stylish this season.
Lately I have been style stalking Moda Operandi’s new artistic director, Taylor Tomasi Hill (aka TTH). She is a self-proclaimed Equipment junkie! I love how she styled this blue and white check blouse over a classic one-piece swimsuit. Sprint over to the MO sight to get this exact look, or re-create with any Equipment blouse.
Sometimes there is nothing more crisp, clean or chic than a classic white blouse paired with a great pair of denim. I love the slight retro look of this tie-front blouse, which would also work well with a high waisted short, pant or skirt. Naturally, if you are going to go simple up top, make sure you work in a fabulous pair of heels. I absolutely adore these Alaia’s and the Current/Elliot stiletto jean is the perfect length to show them off in all of their strappy glory. Throw on a pair of goddess like gold double cuffs and you’re set!
One of the biggest mistakes you can make in fashion is thinking that you have to match perfectly. Some of the greatest style icons are (and were) masters of the print mix! Don’t be afraid to mix prints, colors and textures. I love how TTH paired her floral Equipment blouse here with a pair of tweed shorts. This black floral blouse is great because it can carry you over into fall; just imagine it under a killer leather jacket!
