Southern Living magazine released its list of the 75 Most Stylish Southerners and Houston's represented. Cecilia Márquez, creative director for the chic Rice Village boutique Saint Cloud, made the best dressed list.

The magazine asked each fashionable Southerner to sum up what they love most about Southern style right now.

“To me, Southern style, especially in Texas, is about the attention to detail," Márquez says. "[A] Southern woman thinks about every single piece of her outfit, down to the color of her hair tie. Accessories play an essential role, and nothing is overlooked.”

It's no surprise that Márquez emphasizes the importance of accessories as Saint Cloud — arguably one of the most fashion-forward boutiques in town — is known for its focus on jewelry, handbags, home goods and small accessories. As creative directror, Márquez brings her unique sense of style to the shop by including pieces from uncommon designers such as Kelly Wearstler, Pamela Love and Lizzie Fortunato, the likes of which you won't find in other Houston stores.

Márquez certainly has the kind of background needed to secure her spot on the list. Not only has she served as the creative director for Saint Cloud since its inception, but her resume also includes an art degree and experience as a buyer for Kuhl-Linscomb and Mortar.

Demonstrating that Texas fashion is about more than just cowboy boots, a total of seven Texans were featured in Southern Living's list, including Kendra Scott, Alyson Fox, Paul Qui and Deana Saukam from Austin and Kimberly Schlegel Whitman and Michelle Nussbaumer of Dallas.
