Carol Brady, The Nanny, television's premier letter turner and one of the top pop stars of the '80s were among the celebrities who walked the runway at the Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection fashion show to help kick off New York Fashion Week Thursday night.
Florence Henderson, Fran Drescher, Vanna White and Debbie Gibson delighted the audience as they joined a number of other celebrities in gowns created by top U.S. designers to support the American Heart Association's national movement to end heart disease and strokes among females — the No. 1 killer of women.
The February fashion tradition, sponsored by Macy's, has raised more than $55 million for the national movement and helped to save an estimated 285 lives each day with prevention and education programs.
Here are some highlights from the big night:
Confetti came raining down at the end of the show.
Marilu Henner, in Escada, gives the heart love sign. A disco remix of the Gordon Lightfoot song, "If You Could Read My Mind," played as she walked the runway, no doubt in tribute to Henner's ability to recall minute details of almost every day of her life. She has Highly Superior Auto-Biographical Memory, or H-SAM, that allows her to hold onto even the most minor of moments.
American Ballet Theate principal dancer Misty Copeland, who made history last year as the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer in ABT's 75-year history, looks glamorous in a dark red David Meister gown.
Florence Henderson, who was the perfect mom in the classic TV series The Brady Bunch, threw off a robe to reveal a long-sleeve red gown by Pamella Roland.
Wheel Of Fortune's Vanna White, in a gown designed by Lee Lim as part of The Fashion Incubator at Macy's, pauses for dramatic effect.
Miss Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach swirls in a Carmen Marc Valvo gown.
Transgender Internet personality Gigi Gorgeous looked gorgeous in a Laurel DeWitt gown and headdress.
Empire co-star Seryah sparkles in a Reem Acra gown.
Fran Drescher, in a red La Petite Robe Di Chiara Boni gown, has a good time on the runway. She appeared with a curler in her hair and applied makeup as she strolled the catwalk to loud applause.
Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo rocked the runway in a Marchesa gown.
NBC Today show host Tamron Hall, in a Romona Keveza gown, busted some moves on the runway.
Singer, model and actress Madison Beer, in a Halston Heritage gown, strikes a pose.
Actress Alexa Penavega, in a Gustavo Cadile gown, led the celebrities on the final runway walk.
