The rumors of Madewell coming to Houston proper have had us hoping and praying for official confirmation from J. Crew's stylish sidekick for months.
The brand debuted its first store in Dallas' NorthPark Center in 2006, after all, and opened shop at The Domain in Austin in 2007, so it's long past due for southeastern expansion.
The good news? Madewell is coming soon. The bad? It's not to Highland Village, where J. Crew and a replacement Anthropologie are currently under construction.
"We're opening a store at the Houston Galleria!" a J. Crew representative told CultureMap via email. The opening is slated for the first week of June (though that's subject to change, the rep cautioned).
Until then, shoppers will just have to make the trek to Madewell's new storefront at Market Street in The Woodlands for the muted neons, soft stripes and pretty patterns that define the brand's Spring 2013 collection.
