Don Henley is joining the opening weekend celebration for the Smart Financial Centre in Sugar Land.
The founder of the legendary rock band The Eagles will perform a solo concert at the new 6,400-seat arena on January 15, 2017. He will include songs spanning his career, including his latest release, Cass County, which was named for the East Texas county where he was raised.
Tickets will go on sale on Friday July 29 at Ticketmaster.com.
As CultureMap reported, Henley recently thrilled thousands of admirers at a large concert in London, where he performed in a double bill with Carole King.
He is the second big name to be announced for the opening weekend at the new center. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld will headline two performances on January 14.
