What are you reading? Carrie Fisher loves Henry Miller's raw language — and hates eReaders

Editor's Note: In this new continuing feature, we will ask notables passing through Houston what they're reading now. First up: Carrie Fisher.

Carrie Fisher, film, television and Broadway star, is also the best-selling author of the novels Postcards from the Edge, Surrender to Pink and The Best Awful There Is, as well as two memoirs Wishful Drinking, which she adapted from her one-woman Broadway show, and the recent Shockaholic. Her screenplay adaption of Postcards from the Edge became the acclaimed movie starring Meryl Streep and Shirley MacLaine.

What she’s reading: The novels of Henry Miller.

Why? He’s awesome. It’s amazing. I’ve been been reading all his stuff, rereading some and reading others for the first time. He just is raw. He’s awesome. He’s the man who really tried to popularize the word “cunt” and you’ve got to love him for that.
