Up close and personal: Guns N' Roses to perform concert at House of Blues in Houston

Filed under the "how far they've fallen" department, Guns N' Roses will come to Houston on May 28 for a concert at the House of Blues. Tickets will run from $135 (for general admission) to $155 and $175 for upper and lower balcony.

The promoters are calling this a "once in a lifetime, up close and personal show," which is an amusing way to gild a rose. Hey, that's pretty good, because his name is Axl Rose.

The Houston date is an add-on to a stop in Texas the band was already scheduled to make in San Antonio, when they perform at the River City Rockfest at the AT&T Center on May 26. They're headlining the annual Rocklahoma festival in Pryor, Oklahoma on May 24, and they will also play a few dates in the Southwest around that time, including the Lone Star Amphitheater in Lubbock on June 1 and Kansas City on June 2.

After Houston, the band will travel to Dallas House of Blues for a May 29 show.

Rose kind of can't get a break; in March, he was sued by a fan in Australia after getting hit in the mouth by a cordless microphone Rose threw into the audience. Uh, maybe you shouldn't go to rock shows?

Tickets will go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m.
