Queen and former American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert are teaming up for a summer arena tour with a stop at the Toyota Center on July 9. The tour will hit 19 cities across North America, starting in Chicago on June 19.
The tour will also stop in Dallas on July 10, making it and the Houston concert the only two tour dates in the South.
Surviving Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor decided to go on tour with Lambert after a much buzzed-about appearance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in 2013. They've actually appeared together many times before, dating all the way back to Lambert's time on Idol, but this is the first time they've gone on tour together in North America.
The tour will feature Lambert taking on the Freddie Mercury role as lead singer and belting out all of the band's greatest hits, like "We Will Rock You," "We are the Champions," and "Bohemian Rhapsody."
Tickets for the Houston date go on sale Friday, March 14, through the Live Nation mobile app and at Livenation.com. However, anyone with an American Express card has access to a pre-sale starting on Monday, March 10.
